Sunday saw Minor third grade take on the Dapto Panthers. The game between these two team is always done in great fun and great spirit.
The first innings saw Mariners bat first with Ben Campbell having a nice hit to the outfield then eventually scoring starting the game on a good note.
Panthers replied with some hits of their own bringing in two runs with Anthony Burgess taking all three catches in the outfield to shut down the innings.
Next innings Mariners continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over with more hitting from Greg Symmans and Anthony Burgess, putting pressure on Panthers fielding creating errors.
New to the pitching duties Ben Campbell was doing a fine job not allowing Panthers to score. Panthers pitcher Paul Bojar stepped up his performance striking out two out of the next four batters.
Mariners didn’t stop getting bat to ball forcing more errors and bringing more runs across the plate.
Ben Campbell continued his dominance on the mound with fine support from his field which kept panthers runs to a minimum.
Final innings Mariners put the pedal down showing how far this team has gone in such a short time scoring the most runs in all their innings.
Panthers stage a fight back with the bats but poor base running choices let them down.
With a excited Mariners taking their first win of the session 9/4
