Round 5 – Seniors Major 2nd Grade

On a beautiful day at Ison park Mariners Second grade majors hosted the Dapto Panthers for the first time this season. With both teams sitting in the middle of the ladder this was going to be a good game.

Andrew (AJ) Provest started on the mound for Mariners with some impressive form not allowing Panthers to trouble the scorers.

Mariners first innings was a mixed affair with a couple of strike outs and some impressive hitting. The best being a fantastic line drive by Edan Kelly bringing home two runs.

Second innings panthers pitcher Dale Scifleet impressed get Mariners first three batters out.

Not to be out done Mariners still kept Panthers scoreless.

Top of the third inning Panthers made the scorers work with a nice hit from Dylan Crisp bringing in their first run.

Bottom of the third innings Mariners Bats shone with numerous multi base hits and a bomb from big fella Kierran Harris getting Mariners first home run for the season.

Top of the fourth Mariners had a pitching change bringing on Brendan (Bmac) McMahan who performed well getting his first three batters out.

Mariners continued with their batting bringing in another run.

Next innings Bmac continued with his impressive pitching keeping Panthers scoreless once again.

Bottom of the fifth innings Mariners bats slowed down not getting and runs across the plate.

Top of the six innings Panthers showed their true potential having three nice hits and scoring a run.

Bottom of the six innings Mariners were not required to bat winning the game 8/2. The score line didn’t show the closeness of the game played hard and in good spirit.

Hits home run Kierran Harris. Doubles Andrew Provest, Marcus Atkinson. Singles Michael Vine 3, Nic Fisher 2, Edan Kelly, Brendan McMahon ,

Pitchers Andrew Provest  66 pitches 35 strikes and 3 strikeouts. Brendan McMahon 41 pitches 28 strikes and 2 strikeouts.
