5th Grade played Warriors 5B at Berkeley. After a wet start to the weekend we were quite pleased to get onto the field.

Dan Miranda began with a great hit out to right field to start the momentum of the game with Tausia Antonio following with a two base hit out to left field, then Tony Burgess  with an impressive hit out to right field bringing both Dan Miranda  and Tausia Antonio home. Chris Keith having the next safe hit of the innings straight out to centerfield bringing Tony home to finish the innings with 3 runs scored. Warriors into bat next seen Tausia Antonio show off some impressive pitching gaining 3 strikeouts to close the innings out with no additions.

Second Innings saw a quick innings for both Mariners and Warriors with some good fielding from both teams. Third Innings Tausia Antonio started the batting line up hitting out to centerfield followed by Tony Burgess having a double hit to right field bringing Tausia Antonio home. Chris Keith had a hit into left field bringing Tony Burgess home. Warriors had 5 hits out to field bringing in 3 runs narrowing the margin to 5-3.

Fourth Innings Warriors made a pitching change proving too strong for Mariners. Warriors made 4 safe hits over the next 3 innings helping them bring in 3 runs across home plate to finish the game out with a win to Warriors 6-5. A very close game saw Warriors win 6-5.

Tony Burgess showed great fielding at centre field today making double plays on 2 separate occasions combining with his team mates Ben Quiney and Cheyanne Whenham. Pitching duties were completed by Tausia Antonio with 91 pitches, 57 strikes and 8 strike outs.
