The Shoalhaven Mariners 2nd grade side suffered their 4th loss of the season at the hands of the Northern Pirates at Thomas Dalton Park on Saturday.
The Mariners offence never really got going and were retired in order for the first 3 innings of the game. Pirates pitcher Lachlan Crawley threw well, pitching the whole game. Crawley was backed up by an outstanding Pirates defence which ended 4 of 6 innings via the double play.
While Mariners out hit the Pirates 5-4 the Pirates got the hits when it mattered and made Mariners pay for costly errors and walked hitters.
Pirates walking away with their first win from Mariners in almost 2 years, 4-1.

Pitching duties were shared between Kai Meuronen who pitched 4 innings, throwing 91 pitches, 57 for strikes, giving up 4 hits and walked 4 while Brenton McMahon pitched 1.1 innings throwing 30 pitches, throwing 15 for strikes, striking out 2, walking 1 and not allowing any hits.
