The Shoalhaven Mariners 2nd grade side have missed making their 3rd grand final in a row and have been eliminated by the Northern Pirates on Saturday at Cringila Park on Saturday.
The Pirates took it to the Mariners from the very 1st inning where they scored 2 early runs and never looked back, having the lead through the entire game.
Although Mariners mounted several comebacks during the game the most telling static was the Pirates 13 hits to Mariners 6. The most dominant Pirates hitting performance against the Mariners in almost 2 years.
Mariners hits were all singles going to Lee Lawson, Andrew Provest, Michael Vine, Brenton McMahon, Edan Kelly and Kieran Harris.
Although the Mariners were still in the game after 6 innings, behind by one run at 5-6.
The Pirates ran away with it in the last inning 10-7 and will now face the Wollongong Cardinals in next week’s grand final.
