Shoalhaven Mariners 6th Grade on a wild and windy day at Dapto Mariners took
on the Dapto Panthers.
The first innings it was encouraging to see the mariners hold their own
against the panthers with the start of the game being at nice hit from new
comer Martin Heffernan and getting around the bases to score Mariners first
run.
Ray Goulden started the pitching duties for mariners doing well with some
great fielding from third baseman Chris Keith keeping Panthers to only two
runs.
From there that is where the wheels feel off for Mariners with a lot of
unforced errors allowing panthers to pile on the runs. But with every error
made was a learning curb for a developing squad. Panther coming away with
the win 22/6
Hats off to young Cameron Goulden who was thrown into the catchers duty
doing and outstanding job.
Hits went to Martin Heffernan and Ray Goulden
