Shoalhaven Mariners 4th Grade travelled to Dapto to take on the Dapto Panthers.
From the get go it was clear to see that the Dapto team was at a level above the new Mariners forth grade team. Panthers pitcher Joshua Lenard shut the Mariners batters down only allowing on hit in the first three innings.
Young Patrick Mannix started on the mound for the Mariners. Being a developing pitcher he did well but the experience of the Panthers line up was just to good.
With the game getting away from the Mariners the team showed what they are capable of having a good inning bringing in six runs.
Relief pitcher Zac Douglas for Mariners also did well in difficult conditions being away from the game for years and coming back to pitch for his first game.
Simon Levy had a solid game in the field taking some nice catches in centre field.
The final result was Panthers with the win 17/7
Hits went to Mitchell Burgess 2, Patrick Mannix and Stuart Raymond
