Shoalhaven Mariners 2nd Grade  had their opening game of the season at home
Ison Park against the Northern Pirates .

This was a great game between these two teams. This was a 7 innings game and
the first 6 innings were scoreless on both sides. It was a pitching duel
between Mariners newcomer PJ Barbaro and Pirates Lachlan Crawley who both
did a fantastic job.

In the 7th Inning Pirates worked hard to get around the field with Hayden
Freeme having a single to left field bringing in Pirates only run of the
game and also having the only hit of the game. Hayden also came in to pitch
in the last inning where Mariners forced their issues getting round the
bases with some great batting from Jackson Mannix and Lee Lawson to help
bring  some runs in with Mariners winning 5-1.

PJ Barbaro pitched 6.2 innings with 8 strikeouts throwing 100 pitches with
50 strikes with Jackson Mannix finishing the last batter throwing 2 pitches.
