On a beautiful day to start the 2021 baseball season. It was a grand final rematch between Shoalhaven Mariners and Dapto Chiefs.

Mariners started off batting with the bats running hot with the top off the order getting on base straight away and the rest of the batting order bringing them in putting pressure on Dapto from the get go bringing in four runs.

When it came to Dapto’s turn to bat some nice pitching from Mariners lead off pitcher Lee Lawson and a nice runner caught stealing worked between catcher Simon Levy and new comer to Mariners Callum McNicol at third base didn’t allow Dapto to score.

Second inning was a picture of the first innings for Mariners bringing in another four runs.

Dapto were shut out again with the high light being a good double play between Lee Lawson, Jason Mannix and Stuart Raymond.

Third Inning Dapto brought on their relief pitcher X mariner Andrew Pearson who shut Mariners down not allowing them to score.

The rest of the game was pretty much the same as the third with Mariners tacking onto their lead and Dapto getting shut down with good pitching backed up by the rest of the field.

Mariners finally coming away with the win 11 nil.

Another high light of the game was to see the father Jason Mannix get to play with both his sons Jackson and Patrick.
