The first game for Mariners Minor 1st grade of the season the sun showed up to greet the Mariners new look side who hosted the Warriors at home.
Mariners started in the field with Andrew Pearson on the mound.
Mark Rice for the Warriors started the innings with a great two base hit. Andrew fort back getting the next two batters out then the next batter scored the warriors runner.
Andrew then followed up getting the next batter out.
With Mariners turn to bat they started strong with Austin (Hei Hei) Raymond starting off getting on base. With Austin’s speed some strong hitting and a few errors by Warriors, Mariners got a mighty seven runs across the plate.
Second innings Andrew Pearson had another strong innings not allowing Warriors to trouble the scorers.
Mariners managed to score one run with nice hits from Stuart Raymond and Leith Grant.
Next innings pitchers from both sides shut down the batters not allowing any runs to score.
With Andrew Pearson tiring after a great effort Warriors manage one run.
Mariners bats fired again getting two more runs to their score.
Austin Raymond came on as relief pitcher Warriors had his number putting on two runs in quick succession.
Warriors changed their pitcher bringing on Kyle Phillips who did a great job not allowing Mariners to score.
Top of the last innings Austin Raymond did some great fielding from his own pitching stopping Warriors from scoring.
